I love the idea of taking up only as much space as you need, having only as much stuff as you need, leaving as little as possible behind when the time comes for you to take your final dirt nap.
Tiny house living has long been an obsession of mine. I dream of building one some day… I would make one out of a recycled shipping container, have lots of open space and natural light, a fireplace that faces both inside and out, a big patio… oh! And a live roof! Yeah. That would be so sweet.
But for now, I live in Vancouver with my husband and a scruffy rescued dog, and we can only afford to rent. Because it’s Vancouver. If you live here, you know what I’m talking about. If not, Google “Vancouver property values”.
Anyway, we have chosen to live tiny. In this city. It’s very simple (but not necessarily easy)! All you have to do is get rid of almost all your stuff, and find a tiny bachelor apartment to rent.
And then proceed to make it awesome…
