Three Things Thursday: June 22, 2017

(“Three Things Thursday was created by Emily at Nerd in the Brain and is hosted by Natalie at There She Goes. Three Things Thursday is quite simply a list of three things that have made you happy this week. Your three things can be big or small, anything that makes you laugh or brightens your day!” – from There She Goes)

Three things that made me happy this Thursday are:

1. Finding a bunch of beauty products that are not tested on animals. This used to be a very difficult thing to find, but not so much anymore and I’m so happy about that!

2. A couple of little treasures from one of the neighbourhood’s thrift stores: for 50 cents I got a little book to read on the plane (I’m going on a weekend getaway with the girls I grew up with – more on that to come); and a fabulous necklace for 6 bucks!

3. Freshly manicured nails for previously mentioned getaway with the girls!

And that’s my list today, although I’m grateful for so much more than these three little things.

Have a great weekend, everyone! 🙂

  1. Hi there, thanks so much for your post – the nail colour is beautiful, really vibrant – and it was so useful to know that OGX is cruelty-free – I often see it at my local pharmacy but was never sure about its cruelty-free status – I can now purchase it with a clear conscience – thanks a million 🙂

    • Thanks! Yes, isn’t that good to know? I’m so happy that there are more and more cruelty free choices out there. The quality and availability is finally improving. It’s been a long time coming!

  2. Sounds like you’re bound for having a great time! And the nails look fantastic. I think my own hands look too man-ish for a manicure. They’re not very dainty in appearance; my fingers are more sturdy than delicate.

Also, on Tumblr, I saw a pretty cool comic post that sums up introverts pretty nicely. It read something to the effect of: “Introverts are NOT antisocial…they socialize differently.”. I just loved that, and it’s so true for me; I don’t know if it’s the same for you. I know I like my circle of close people and I don’t thrive very well in bars or large parties. I’m pretty content with just a fun evening in with friends or family, with lots of laughter and talking and listening.

    • Yes, I’m so looking forward to it! Thanks – I love having red nails. It makes me feel so glam! I think that it doesn’t matter what your hands look like, you can paint your nails if you want to. My hands aren’t pretty – they’re like tiny man-hands. Lol! But I don’t care. I love having manicured nails. I used to know a woman with very unattractive hands. She had big beefy palms and the shortest little stubby, nobby fingers, but she didn’t care. Her nails were always painted and she wore pretty rings. I always think of her when I hear people say they don’t have the right kind of hands for manicured nails. 🙂

I love that quote about introverts! Thanks for sharing that. It’s definitely true for me too. I’m only comfortable around my family and my close friends, several of which I’ll get to see this weekend (yay!)
