Three Things…

I am jumping on a lovely bandwagon today, my friends. It’s called “Three Things Thursday” and I learned about it on a wonderful blog I just started following, called “The Snail of Happiness“.

It goes like this (copied from above mentioned blog): *three things that make me smile: an exercise in gratitude — “ feel free to steal this idea with wild abandon and fill your blog [or Twitter account or Facebook page or diary or life in general] with the happy*

So, I went ahead and freely stole it! Here are three things that are making me smile this week:

1. My father-in-law. He thinks I’m funny. I love that quality in a person! The truth of it is: he’s pretty funny too.

It’s so much fun to make him laugh!

2. My dog, Rio. She’s a rescued dog of unknown pedigree. People are forever trying to guess what she is. (I feel for her because I know first hand how annoying this can be. If I had a buck for every time I’ve been asked “what are you?”…) Anyway, we adopted Rio from the SPCA in Grande Prairie, Alberta when she was a puppy, just five months old (approximately), and she was already tall and skinny and sporting a beard that would make any hipster envious. She is a sweet, funny, slightly loopy girl that’s been a part of our little family for more than five years now. She loves roadtrips, rawhide chews, her teddy-bear, playing ball at the beach, singing (although, I don’t think our neighbours love it when she sings), chasing squirrels, and many, many other things. She has a zest for life that is truly inspiring, as dogs often do.

3. My Wonder Woman socks. I believe the photo speaks for itself.

(These wondrous socks were purchased at Kimprints, a great little novelty shop on Denman Street, Vancouver, BC)

When it came right down to choosing three things I’m grateful for today, it was difficult to pick only three! The whole thing has made me realize that I have so much to be grateful for.

What are your three things?

  1. Welcome to the wonderful world of 3TT! I hope that you will keep doing it – especially in weeks when you are feeling blue, because it’s always good to focus on the positive.
Rio made me smile – we too have a “what is it” dog – she’s called Sam and came from a rescue centre… we don’t really care what she is as long as she’s happy!
Thank you for the mention – I’m glad you like my blog 🙂

    • Thank you so much! I do want to keep it going. I’m a big believer in the power of gratitude and this is a great way to just sit down and focus on some specifics.
      Aren’t rescued dogs the best?
Thanks for reading and commenting! 😊
